3.1K

When you want something quick, filling, and full of flavor the best thing to do is make this Spicy Brown Butter Honey Shrimp. Shrimp takes almost no time to cook and this spicy brown butter sauce is about to be your new BFF. This sauce packs heat and beautiful levels of flavor for a mildly sweet and spicy balance. The ingredients in this sauce are very simple and you may already have many of the ingredients.

For the spicy brown butter sauce here is what you will need:

Butter: the base of the sauce is brown butter. You will make this right in your skillet by melting it over medium-high heat and allowing it to release a nutty aroma as it turns brown in color. It’s important to watch your butter because it will burn really fast if left unattended. You will notice your butter melt, boil, start to foam, and then smell very nutty and turn brown in color. That’s how you know it’s done and can be removed from the heat.

Olive oil

Honey: you can use any honey you like

Garlic: fresh garlic is best in this recipe. I recommend mincing it or chopping very fine.

Salt and pepper

Smoked paprika

Crushed red pepper

Worcestershire sauce

Lemon juice

Fresh parsley

Tips that will really help you master this recipe the first time:

  1. Don’t walk away from your brown butter!
  2. Have all of your ingredients ready because this recipe moves fast because the shrimp and sauce comes together very fast
  3. Adjust the crushed red pepper to your liking. Also, if you don’t have crushed red pepper you can use chili oil or sauce.
