Infusing spirits is one of my favorite ways to explore different flavors while introducing flavor to spirits that are light on taste and aroma, such as vodka. While vodka can be spicy the overall flavor palate leaves room for other ingredients like spices, herbs, vanilla, and certain fruits to develop. This Pineapple Infused Vodka is my go-to during the spring and summer months because it lends a nice natural fruit flavor to cocktail recipes. It’s easy to do but it does require some time, 2 weeks to be exact, but it’s totally worth it.

Ingredients:
Vodka, I used Titos Vodka
1 fresh pineapple
Tools:
Glass bottle or jar. I use the bottles from Crew Supply.
Fine mesh strainer
Cheesecloth
How to make Pineapple Infused Vodka
- Cube or slice a whole fresh pineapple into small cubes. Discard the skin and core or save them for another project, such as demerara syrup.
- Add the pineapple to the glass container then pour the vodka over the pineapple. Seal the container then give it a good shake. Let it sit in a warm dry place for 2 weeks. Shake it every 2-3 days and start to taste it as well. You may decide that you don’t need to let it infuse for 2 weeks.
- When the infusion is complete, strain the vodka into a large bowl using a large fine-mesh strainer.
- Balance the flavor by placing the infused pineapples in cheesecloth and squeezing any excess vodka into the bowl with the strained vodka. Discard the pineapples.
- Store the Pineapple infused vodka in the refrigerator for 2 weeks. The vodka won’t spoil, however, pineapples are perishable and after 2 weeks the pineapple flavor will not taste as fresh.

How to enjoy Pineapple Infused Vodka
This is entirely up to you but here are a few ways I like to enjoy the pineapple-infused vodka:
Pineapple Martini
Shaken with ice and served up
Frozen
Mixed into a cocktail
Here’s a recipe to try:
Pineapple passion fruit cocktail
.5 ounce cinnamon simple syrup
1-ounce lime juice
1.5-ounce passion fruit juice
2-ounce Pineapple Infused Vodka
Ice
Add everything to a shaker and pour over ice or enjoy it served up.
