Hurricanes are one of my favorite rum-based cocktails. It’s made using both light and dark rum, orange juice, lime juice, passion fruit puree or syrup, and grenadine. When reading the ingredients some may think the Hurricane is overly sweet but it’s not. When made right and properly diluted, it is a wonderfully balanced boozy cocktail. It’s one of the most popular drinks served in New Orleans, especially during Mardi Gras.
