I’m sure we all have heard of an Aperol Spritz which is a delicious spritz cocktail but have you ever tried a Select Spritz? Select Aperitivo liqueur is a product of Venice Italy and it’s one of my favorite liqueurs to enjoy with chilled prosecco or in this case, a Grapefruit Select Spritz. The flavors in the Select Aperitivo are a combination of macerated rhubarb roots and juniper berries. The tasting notes are floral, grassy, citrusy, balsamic, and spicy which complements the grapefruit in this refreshing cocktail.
I like to serve this cocktail as a pre-dinner drink to open the palate and appetite. This is a low alcohol cocktail so it’s one that you can enjoy without feeling the side effects of alcohol too soon. If I’m being completely honest, this is a cocktail that I make when I’m doing a little light work in the afternoon or just lounging.

Batch this cocktail based on the number of guests you’re expecting. To do that, use the scale feature in the recipe card below and just add all of the ingredients except the ice and sparkling water to a pitcher and whisk very well, then chill in the fridge until you’re ready to serve. When your guests arrive, pour the cocktail into glasses over ice and top with sparkling water.

Description
A quick and refreshing spritz made with grapefruit juice, gin, and select aperitif.
Ingredients
2 oz Grapefruit juice
.5 oz lime juice
1 oz Select Aperitif
1.5 oz Gin
.5oz simple syrup (optional)
Ice
Sparkling water
Garnish – 1 sliced grapefruit and 1 rosemary sprig
Instructions
- Add the grapefruit juice, lime juice, select aperitif, gin, and ice to a cocktail shaker, and shake until chilled. Pour the cocktail into a wine or spritz glass over ice. Top with sparkling water or prosecco and garnish with grapefruit and a rosemary sprig.
