Gingerbread Syrup Recipe

One of the treats many of us look forward to during the colder months is warm and cozy drinks to start and end our day. Of the many seasonal flavors I enjoy, gingerbread is one that I enjoy the most. The sweetly spiced flavor works so well in several dishes, cookies, cakes, and drinks, so this gingerbread syrup recipe is one that I know you will love. I have been enjoying it in my coffee and cocktails. It’s the only sweetener you will need for your delicious drinks.

The ingredients are very simple, and you probably already have them in your pantry. For this syrup, we will be using water, molasses, brown sugar, ginger, cinnamon, and a little nutmeg. Pretty much all of the spices add beautiful and warm spice. Also, this recipe makes a little under 1 cup of gingerbread syrup, so if you want to double the recipe, you absolutely can. I would suggest using 3/4 cup brown sugar if you double it so that it’s not too sweet.

How to make this easy Gingerbread Syrup Recipe

Add all of the ingredients to a small pot and bring to a boil over medium heat. Once it reaches a boil, reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for 10 minutes, then remove the pot from the heat. Let it cool, then strain through a cheesecloth into a jar or container. Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
