Every now and then I want a smoothie. It doesn’t happen often but when it does this Chocolate Peanut Butter Smoothie is my go-to because I love all chocolate and peanut butter pairings and because this has bananas in it, it’s very filling. There was a time when I was making daily trips to Tropical Smoothie for my smoothie fix but nowadays I just blend one up at home whenever the craving hits.
The ingredients in this smoothie are pretty straight forward and simple.
Cocoa powder: I suggest an unsweetened cocoa powder so that the smoothie isn’t too sweet.
Frozen bananas: I like to freeze mine for quick smoothie making and once they are frozen they will add a nice consistent creaminess.
Oat milk: this is my personal favorite but any other dairy or non-dairy milk such as almond or cashew will work as well.
Peanut butter: I used creamy peanut butter. You can also use powdered peanut butter using the same measurements.
Vanilla extract: optional but really good for a smooth balance.
It’s a smoothie so feel free to add any other additions, replacements, or protein powders that you would normally enjoy in your smoothie. Other ingredients to consider for various health benefits are avocado, cauliflower, oats, chia seeds, almond butter, and spinach.
How to make this Chocolate Peanut Butter Smoothie
Just add all of the ingredients to a blender and blend on high until smooth. Garnish with chopped chocolate if desired and that’s it! You can enjoy this smoothie for breakfast, lunch, or if you’re like me as an evening dessert.
